Summary/Abstract: Underlying the strong family structures of the Altai communities lies their commitment to traditions and customs, beliefs, folklore and other spiritual characteristics. The traditions of naming their children in these peoples, which the parents of the family regard as the sacred cult and their children as the most precious wealth, are just as rich and wide-ranging. Because names gain their meanings over time, they are based on very old backgrounds and constitute the material and spiritual value of that people's language. These peoples are known to use almost all words as names. Nevertheless, there have been differences in time, place and name selection rules since the earliest times. It is remarkable that the Altai peoples living in the Siberian region continue their traditions of 19-20 centuries more intensely. In Altai communities, the name to be given to the child carries the idea that it will determine his future life. For this reason, the tradition of naming the newborn child is very important. While some of them are kept alive today, some have disappeared. Undoubtedly, these traditions include the general history and common cultures of the Altai communities. In comparative studies, it has been observed that the rules and customs of the Altai peoples in naming have come to the fore in their traditions from 19 centuries to the present day. In our research, we aimed to examine this issue in more depth.
