LOCAL POETRY FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF ITS CREATORS AND THE AUDIENCE AT POETRY MEETINGS

Summary/Abstract: The article relates to the phenomenon of the local poetic writings in Poland, seen from the perspective of the poets and the audience of poetic meetings, combining psychological and sociological optics. The author, on the bases of the research conducted in 2006–2007, analyzes a creative inspiration of local poets, “advantages” and “disadvantages” of their membership to the local literature associations. The perspective of the authors is confronted with the perspective of the receivers, in this case: the audience of poetic meetings. The author tries to find the answer to such questions as: “Why do people read poetry?” and “Why do they participate in poetic meetings?”
