Summary/Abstract: Above all, Christianity, preaching love of God and of neighbor, as commandment and foundation of the Christian life, proposes the strongest binder of human solidarity. Through Christian love, from which no person is excluded, not even the enemy, philanthropy extends to all and penetrates deep into the human being. It is expressed through a loving service to all.The Orthodox Church teaches that salvation is not accomplished alone, but only with others, within the Church, with the help of others and by helping others. People in need, people with disabilities, must be supported, accepted and encouraged to recognize their own values, to trust God, to be close to the Christian community, to rely with all confidence on the word of God, to trust in His boundless love for people, to confess before Him to gain freedom. These people suffer deeply until they accept their situation, they scrutinize themselves thoroughly and are often overwhelmed with despair. Faith and prayer are the means by which these people come to peace of mind.Impaired believers need to feel the solidarity and brotherhood among parishioners in Christian communities, respectively among all members of the Church, and then the Church will be able to easily and successfully fulfill its mission of supporting those lacking the support of our society.
