Summary/Abstract: Political and sectarian events after the death of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) caused the formation of various ideas and sects in the history of Islam. The spread of bidʻa views has led to the question of isnad in the science of hadith and thus the development of the science of al-Jarḥ and at-taʻdīl. Abū İshāk İbrāhim b. Yakūb Jūzajānī (d. 259/821), who had an important place in the science of rijāl, and the words of whom about narrators were quoted, did important contributions to this science with his work named Ahvālu'r-rijāl and other various works. Jūzacānī, who read hadith from important hadith scholars and was the teacher of the leading hadith scholars of the time, also gained the respect and affection of Ahmad b. Hanbal. However, he was mentioned in the 4th century with his opposition to Ali, and later on, in time, he was attributed to Nāsibī sects such as Harūrī and Hureyzī. Later on, Jūzajānî's criticisms, against the mutashayyaʻ narrators, especially those of narrators from al-Ḳūfa, were discredited due to the fact that there was a creed between the critic and the criticized. Especially by the 4th century authors, the mild accusations against Jūzajānī on ʻAlī turned into harsh criticisms in the following periods and were used by many authors lately. According to this, the article aims to criticize the allegations against Jūzajānī, especially the claim that he was anti-ʻAlī and was Nāsıbī and he did not behave fairly towards the mutashayyiʻ narrators from Kūfe due to his sectarian status.
