Summary/Abstract: Time use and domestic work in Europe. The paper highlights the importance of the Time Use Surveys (TUS) in the time use research and presents some of the results from the HETUS (Harmonised European Time Use Surveys) from several European countries. It focuses on the relationship between paid and unpaid work and the importance of studying the housework, but the main issue is gender, since the differences between countries are small compared to the differences between men and women in every country.
