Summary/Abstract: We will discuss the self-consciousness of Georgians, the meaning of life based on the fountainhead epitaphs reflecting the economic, socio-cultural rules, professional characteristics of individuals, communities, societies, and ethnos in general. The paper is presented in two parts: 1) the meaning of life of the deceased, expressed in the manner of burial of dead, the need for respect; 2) Do not call death the passing. The annalistic-descriptive studies, mostly conducted on the epitaphs of second half of the 19thcentury and the 20thcentury, revealed: a. Knowledge of cultural and social rules, values, experienced and traditionally provided in the time of ethnos, understanding of the transient world is the identity of Georgian; B. The ethnic sign of Georgians was the orthodox belief/philanthropy of life, the service of the Good; C. Turning benevolent belief into profession, living ready to move to enter Heaven for eternal life, is a sign of national cultural-religiousness, it is a manifestation of consciousness and level of culture from Georgians; D. Ensuring a sustainable society through "faith and Christianity" was an individual's responsibility; T.The Georgian-national, religious-traditional nature is to recognize the "communist era" as a test of a person and not to punish him, to abandon him. The common form and rule of burial in Georgia/the "arrangement" of the grave, the epitaphs of various contents, is also a confirmation of the socio-cultural development of the modern society, and the desire of the bereaved person. Rare cases of affirmation of the will of the bereaved person are also found in the pantheons; the graves, tomb inscriptions confirm the struggle for victory of life over death, the provision of eternity by a man. The article is dedicated to the banning or preventing circumstances and exogamy (between the members of a socium and clan) based on the new ethnographic material gained on the fieldwork in Samegrelo and archive documents. Nowadays, this is still proved not a remain but as a rule of a life. A clan is an important element of studying an ethnos that provides valuable information for researching anthropologic and contemporary genetic (DNM) issues as a clan is found not only in a point of historic-ethnographic view but also an analogy of biologic and genetic marks. In this respect, a clan supplies the reliable information regarding genetic. The marriage circle determines the genetic and morphologic polymorphism of population, its inbreeding and panmixia. Studying and fixing the rules of exogamy is very important in everyday life to avoid the cases of incest as the marriage between relatives lead to adverse consequences in a point of genetic and social view. There are hundreds of clans in Samegrelo between them marriage has been banned. The main reasons for this prohibition are considered social, religious economic and other factors. One of the vital features is the clans’ historic memory of the same origin. Particularly, the clans living in different locations do not get married in accordance to the folk story about their origin of the same clan. In Samegrelo, exogamy is protected not only by blood ties but also relations by marriage. The research revealed the following circumstances that ban and prevent the marriage: 1. The memory about the same origin. 2. “Ginochama’’ as a curse by the icon 3. to connect the particular clan with its branch ‘’ Gamnarki’’ (one genealogical group) in a prayer ‘’Okhvameri’’. 4. Sharing the same shrine 5. The social equality 6. Living within the same monogamic village or neighbourhood. 7. Christening relations witnessing 8. Various relations within a clan 9. Endogamy 10. Diseases.
