Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this research is the values that teacher candidates have and that they want to teach in schools. In the research, descriptive survey model was used. 3230 teacher candidates in total studying at the Faculty of Education of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University are the universe of the study. The sample of this study is a total of 332 teacher candidates, 265 of whom were female and 67 were male. In this search, "Personal Information Form" and "Portrait Values Scale" adapted to Turkish by Demirutku and Sümer (2010) were used as data collection tools. According to the results; it was concluded that teacher candidates have a high level of value perception. Values of prospective teachers by gender, no significant difference was found across the scale and in the dimensions of power, achievement, arousal, self-orientation, universalism, tradition, compliance and security. However, in the hedonism sub-dimension; it has been observed that female teacher candidates have higher values than male teacher candidates. According to the departments of the teacher candidates; it was revealed that there was no significant difference between the dimensions of strength, arousal and benevolence. However, a significant difference was observed across the scale and in the dimensions of achievement, hedonism, self-orientation, universalism, traditionalism, conformity and security. According to the wishes of the teacher candidates to improve the values in education, it was revealed that there was no significant difference in the overall scale and in other dimensions, but there was a significant difference in the traditionalness dimension. Teacher candidates who believe in the development of scientific values have more positive views than those who believe in the development of democratic values.
