Summary/Abstract: The parliamentary election for The Federal Assembly, held on May 31, 1992., were a matter of special attention of domestic public. Between 9th and 11th of May, Partner Agency carried out sonding of pre-electoral public opinion on the territory of Republic of Serbia (without Kosovo), on the sample of 1010 people. The main purpose of this research was to find out characteristic attitudes of electoral corpus on their political orientation. The results show that most of the electors considered the election very important, while the period of time provided for electoral campaign and for introducing with the candidates was estimated as insufficient. Concerning the matter of the 'right time" for the elections, the polls were divided, as well as about the question of election’s legitimate since the opposition parties didn’t participate. As for the voting on the federal elections, the affirmative answer was given by 70.3% examined. By excluding the voters of Serbian Renewal Movement and Democratic Party (which didn’t take part at the elections), one could actually find a number of 59.4% of those who were prepared to vote. The official result show that at polling places in Serbia (without Kosovo) came 61.3% of registered polls (deviation is 1.9%), which implicates that research was very good in its predicting character. By comparing the official results and the Agency’s sonding results one could come to the fact that Serbian Radical Party had doubled the number of its voters during the last three weeks of pre-election campaign, which means that this party has gained most of those members of electoral corpus that was, during the time when research has been carried out, regarded as undecided. Socialist Party of Serbia, as well as other small parties, gained minor part of undecided polls. The results of the elections confirmed what could have been anticipated on the results of the sonding research. Above all, the have confirmed that Socialist Party of Serbia would win most of the parliamentary seats of The Federal Assembly, as well as that Serbian Radical Party is to become the significant factor on Serbian and Yugoslav political scene.
