Summary/Abstract: Starting from the analysis of Wiktor Rubin’s play Nobody Will Believe Me Anyway, based on Jolanta Janiczak’s drama about Barbara Zdunk, the last witch burned at the stake in Europe (Aleksander Fredro Theatre in Gniezno, premiere: 19.06.2020), the author reflects on the problem of the domination of male narration in public space and speaking about history, present in all the artists’ work. In their performances, the artists deal with thought constructs concerning the normativity of the body, carnality, and sexuality, which are entangled in power relations, contained in language and produced, shaped, and strengthened by it. Dramatic and theatrical language is analyzed, revealing the mechanisms of constructing exclusionary narratives in public space. An important philosophical context for the article is provided by the works of such scholars as Judith Butler, Rebecca Solnit, and Mona Chollet, and a social one –– the struggle for women’s rights within the #MeToo movement and Black protests.
