Summary/Abstract: The transformation in communication with digitalization has brought many innovations in the field of journalism. The journalism which adopts the idea of the public in democratic societies, aims to inform and raise awareness of the society. Digitalization and journalism brought new concepts to the literature such as "Big Data" under the title of digital journalism. This concept, which comes up with the digitalization and storage of information that covers a wide area, is also used in the field of journalism. Today, when neo-liberal policies prevail, institutions in digital journalism as well as in traditional journalism need to receive advertisements in order to survive. The more clicks / traffic the news sites on the Internet get, the more their rank in search engines stand out. The prominence of news sites provides an increase in advertising revenues. In other words, the news made by news sites stand out in Google rankings with the applications we call SEO (Search Engine Optimization). This style of journalism, which increases the visibility of news sites by targeting the Google algorithm, is defined as "SEO journalism" or "Google journalism" in the field of digital journalism.
