Summary/Abstract: The article is devoted to the topical problem of illegal acts (offences) against religious structures and temples and criminal liability for such acts under the criminal law of Ukraine. Special attention is paid to the legal principles and features of the concepts of the subject and object of such illegal acts. The characteristic features of subjective criteria of unlawful acts perpetrated against religious structures and temples are highlighted and described. Having analysed the aforesaid criteria of such offences under Articles 178 and 179 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the author casts more light on some of such offences. The article is of interdisciplinary nature at the interface of criminal law and denominational law.
