Investigating and Ranking Vigilant Leadership Factors: Evidence from Tehran municipality

Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to investigate and identify vigilant leadership’s dimensions and rank its factors in 22 districts of Tehran Municipality. Vigilant leadership factors include network-based view, uncertainty orientation, peripheral vision, empowerment and concentration. The research method is applicable and a descriptive-survey method. Applying census method, a total number of 132 CEOs from 22 districts of Tehran Municipality were selected to fill in a questionnaire. After data collection, we investigated the reliability of indices using SPSS 18 software. As a next step, we applied one sample t-test and Friedman test to examine research questions. The results obtained from the tests demonstrates that vigilant leadership’s factors are highly favourable with a 99% degree of confidence. Empowerment ranked first ahead of the other factors of vigilant leadership while network-based view and uncertainty orientation ranked last respectively.
