Summary/Abstract: Koyalı Tevfik Celâl Orhan is a leading poet and storyteller of Turkmen literature in the 1st quarter of 20th century Iraq or the old day Mesopotamia. The poet was born in Koya/Kirkuk, his father’s place of work in the year 1905. His father was Ottomans civil servant station in Koya the then called Köysancak. After successfully finishing his primary education in Erbil, the poet, joined Ilmiye academy in Kirkuk to proceed with his secondary education. Unfortunate, due to some financial difficulties he was forced to cut short his education life in 1924 and diverted his focus to earning his livelihood. The poet, who was raised up experiencing several cultures during his childhood, had an opportunity to closely observe the cultural and traditional life of these societies. Although Koyalı Tevfik Celâl Orhan initially ventured into the world of literature by writing some story books, he diverted his interest to poetry after his dismal performance in storytelling. Lucky the poet gain very auspicious success in poetry works. With his industrious innovation and creation of new terminologies the poet became one of the individuals who opened a new window for Mesopotamia or Iraqi Turkmen poetry. Koyalı Tevfik Celâl Orhan who advocated for innovative ideas in poetry had open, simple, and easy to understand language. The poet the same he had no children or property worthy to be mentioned in his lifetime has no poetry or prose converted in book to the date. Koyalı Tevfik Celâl Orhan being a heterogeneous perspective poet his serial novel Eyvallah! is analyzed within the scope of Şerif Aktaş’s book The Analysis of poem (Theory and Practice).
