The House of the Gagaouzes

Summary/Abstract: The article comments on the guidelines in building a house by Gagaouzes, as seen through the eyes of its inhabitants. The field research material and the literary sources give grounds for the outlining of relatively few differences between the home of the Gagaouz population from the coastal region and the Gagaouz population from the country’s interior. The differences are, most generally, due to the available natural raw materials, the livelihood of the population and local fashions. The dwelling of the Gagaouzes shows very close similarity to the home model of the population around.
