Summary/Abstract: Under the Constitution of Republic of Bulgaria the prosecution is a component of the judiciary. This is so because of the necessity of ensuring independence and procedure autonomy, appointment and irremovability provisions for prosecutors, similar to those valid for judges. Moreover, a prosecutor may be independent only if he is to comply with the regulations of law exclusively. The uniform law enforcement with respect to everybody is ensured by an unitary and centralized prosecution, where the Prosecutor General performs supervision of lawfulness, as well as methodological management of the activities of all prosecutors.
