Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes the two Tomitan coin types attributed to Augustus (Regling 2576; PRC, S-1823A), showing that neither of them was actually issued during this emperor’s reign. The first shows obvious similarities with the coins of Titus and, especially, with those struck at the beginning of Domitian's reign. The second one is a rarer type of Nero, recorded in the corpus, but not illustrated (Regling 2589).
