Summary/Abstract: Epidemics have affected the world at various times. One of the regions that epidemics affected was the lands of the Ottoman Empire. From the end of the 19th century, the health system was weak in Çorum, administered in the Ottoman provincial organization as a sanjak under the province of Ankara. For many years, only one doctor sought remedies to the health problems in the center of the sanjak. The situation was the same in İskilip and Sungurlu, the districts linked to Sanjak. In Osmancık district, the public was also deprived of this opportunity. Cholera outbreaks occurred in many places at the end of the 19th century. In this process, although several cases of cholera were detected in Çorum city center, the disease did not turn into an epidemic. However, Çorum was also affected by the epidemic that occurred at the beginning of the 20th century. Another disease seen in the sanjak was syphilis. Institutional measures were taken against the disease. But the efforts to open the Syphilis Hospital were fruitless. Some places are important for the occurrence and spread of diseases. As one of these places, Çorum Prison threatened the city with infectious diseases, mainly typhoid fever. Scarlet fever, smallpox, and diphtheria also appeared from time to time in Çorum. Within the framework of preventive measures, vaccines against diseases such as smallpox and diphtheria were also made in Çorum and its linked districts. In this study, the effects of epidemics on people living in the borders of Çorum sanjak and institutional measures implemented against diseases from 1894 to the beginning of the First World War are handled.
