Summary/Abstract: On the basis of historiographic literature and popular tradition the paper tries to reconstruct the road by which the blessed queen Katarina Kosača Kotromanić in flight before the invading Osmanlis escaped from Bosnia to Ston. On the basis of historic sources it is known by which road queen Katarina had come from Fojnica to Blagaj, but nowhere in the literature has the route been mentioned by which she travelled from Blagaj to Ston. After years-long field research, on the basis of the knowledge of the geomorphology of Lower Herzegovina (mainly of that of the Hutovo region, Zažablje and Popovo), and the study of literature and the research of pre-historical, ancient and medieval routes one has come to the conclusion that the Bosnian queen had travelled, together with her father Duke Stjepan KOsača, from Blagaj to Stone by the pre-historic, caravan medieval route via Dubrava, Stolac, Hrasno, Hutovo Hills, Hutovo, Žukovice, Radetići and Ošalj, the so called Big Road or the Road of Salt. The stated facts have been supplemented and corroborated by the local oral tradition.
