Interaction of an investigator with an expert in the appointment and conduct of forensic examinations

Summary/Abstract: The scientific article is devoted to the consideration of the interaction of the investigating authorities with the expert divisions, as well as the problematic issues that arise in this case. The opinion of scientists-forensic scientists and the legislative base in this direction are analyzed. Attention is focused on the need for interaction between an investigator and an expert at the very initial stage of the appointment of an examination, that is, during the determination of the possibilities of a particular examination, and subsequently - in the selection of comparative samples for research, the formulation of the necessary questions, the correct packaging of the research objects, the preparation of accompanying documents, clarification of the circumstances of the criminal proceedings to the extent necessary for the formation of conclusions, the presence of the investigator during the examination. The relevance of this topic is confirmed by statistical data, interview results, as well as practical examples.
