Summary/Abstract: The article approaches the problem of interpersonal conflicts in prison. Thus, the author presents the notion of conflict in prison environment, functions of conflicts, their causes and manifestations. Another researched problem relates to arrange prevention of interpersonal conflict among prisoners. In this context, is mentioned the precautionary work and activity of prison staff to conflict resolution. It also reviewed some programs included in the penitentiary system of the Republic of Moldova, aimed at the prevention of conflicts and violence in prison.
