Summary/Abstract: The main goal of this paper is twofold. On the one hand — directly investigating original archival material of Montenegrin Parliament from 1946 onwards — it aims to show the scope of influence that roman legal tradition had on our law-making. On the other hand the author strives to stress historical background in which roman law became the very foundation of contemporary legal system in Montenegro, as well as to highlight several particular influences it made. The paper is consisted of two non-separated parts: (i) intrduction with short historical overview of Ius Commune and its importance, and (ii) the central part with major results of the research.
