Summary/Abstract: Purpose – The purpose of this research, the effect of organizational DNA and corporate governance in accordance with the opinion of academics working in various universities in Turkey. Independent sample t test and one-way variance (Anova) analysis were applied to compare academicians' views on organizational DNA and governance according to some variables. In the Anova analysis, the Tukey test, which is a complementary post-hoc analysis technique, was used to reveal in which group interval the variables differed. Correlation analysis was applied to determine the relationship between organizational DNA and governance, and regression analysis was applied to reveal the effect of organizational DNA on corporate governance. Design/methodology/approach – Relational screening model was used in the research. Data were obtained by survey method from 200 academicians working in various universities in Turkey. Findings –It has been observed that the academicians evaluated the organizational DNA and corporate governance level as medium. While academicians' views on governance did not differ according to gender; It has been found that it differs according to age and professional experience. In addition, while academicians' opinions about the organization's DNA differ according to gender and age; It has been observed that the general average of DNA does not differ according to professional experience, but it does differ in the sub-dimensions of DNA. The organizational structure subject to the research is generally in the flexible organization DNA profile; It has been revealed that there is a positive linear relationship between organizational DNA and governance and that the DNA of the organization has a positive effect on self-regulation, one of the sub-dimensions of corporate governance. Discussion –Similar studies show that educational organizations have flexible DNA profiles; leadership styles affect DNA; It is seen that there are studies on the possibility of more successful organizations thanks to the examination and interpretation of the organization's DNA. From this point of view, the DNA of the organization is expected to bring a different perspective to the top management and to complete the corporate identity and integrity.
