Summary/Abstract: The processes of regions’ development are influenced by multiple factors and taking their full list into account is not possible due to substantive complexity of this economic category and the lack of appropriate statistical information. On account of the far reaching synthesis of a multifaceted problem of development, its appropriate measurement, especially in the territorial dimension, requires a careful selection of indicators but, so far, this problem has not been explicitly solved and in such types of research sets of measures constitute the compromise between substantive reasons and information capacity of databases. The need to deal with and monitor this issue makes quantification possible but ambiguous. The objective of the paper is to present the current statistical picture of regions’ development in Poland.
