Summary/Abstract: An employee capital plan (Polish acronym: PPK) is a private long-term saving system aimed at boosting the financial se- curity of Poles. The aim of this paper is to discuss the impact of the PPK program on the level of houshold savings. In this context, the main focus is placed on the future level of employee participation in the program. The article presents the con- struction of similar programs in selected countries and draws attention to the low level of confidence in voluntary schemes for retirement. The author notes that the real level of savings is clearly lower than the declared.
