Summary/Abstract: Habib Baba (d.1847) is one of the important figures who left permanent marks on the people of Erzurum. Although he has wide reputation among the people, there is not enough information about his life and his Sufi aspect in sources. Although rumours and legends about him contain some information about his personality, they do not provide enough information about his life and his Sufi personality. For this reason, it is important to reveal new information about such an important person in terms of this study. In the article, some questions about Habib Baba will be answered in the light of archive documents, such as whether he is a sect sheikh, and if he is a sect sheikh, whether he has a dervish lodge in the Erzurum region, and whether he left someone instead of him or not. As a result of the examinations on documents of the presidency of the republic of Turkey state archives, it is learned that Habib Baba was a Qadiri order sheikh and he served as a sheikh in dervish lodge assigned to him in Erzurum, and he left a caliph named Ahmad Mushraf after him. In addition, new pieces of information were reached in the archive documents about Habib Baba’s family, the allocation of his salary, the repair and providing food of his dervish lodge.
