Summary/Abstract: Legal aid is regarded as central in providing access to justice. Juvenile defendant entitled to be represented by an attorney. Juvenile can use an assigned counsel or contract attorneys. In Bulgaria throughout the proceedings the juvenile shall have the right to be represented by a legal adviser. The parents may be entitled to participate in the proceedings in the interest of the juvenile.
