Summary/Abstract: The middle of the 20th century marks the beginning of significant development in the regulation of health information. A major role in this process has the development of the concept for patient rights. Gradually, subject to regulation become the information necessary for the management of the health system, the information for medicinal products and for scientific research. The development of the information technologies poses new challenges before the legislation regarding collection, safekeeping, processing, protection, use and transfer of information relevant to the human health.
