The crisis of the Russian education system

Summary/Abstract: The crisis of the modern Russian education system has a dual character. On the one hand, it is influenced by the negative trends in global education system, on the other – has its own internal problem areas associated with specific socio-economic conditions of contemporary Russian society and the historical experience gained in this field. It is a systemic crisis of Russian higher education, when its goals do not coincide with the results. There are a lot of problems, and among them are the violation of the continuity of secondary and higher education units, lack of funding for this sector, aging and decline in teacher training, reducing the quality of higher education, the low level of implementation of new educational technologies and informatization of educational process at the university, the discrepancy of qualified graduates to the labor market. These problems indicate the need for a new paradigm for education-oriented queries for the Russian national economy.
