GENDARMERIE AND ACTION OF THE PARATROOPERS

Summary/Abstract: During World War II, spying agents, sabotage and terrorism were used with paratroopers behind the enemy front in order to produce sabotage, terrorism and concurrently panic among the population, bombarding daily with numerous manifests that were thrown from the plane. As for the paratroopers' actions on Romanian territory, they did not produce results because the gendarmes who had the mission to fight this type of air attack reacted in due time and opposed resistance. The thorough research of these paratroopers has resulted in a series of useful information, made available to all military commanders, in order to take note of them and the measures that ensued.
