Summary/Abstract: The Jewish community in Bacău contributed to the establishment of the two primary schools for boys and girls in Bacau, at the end of the 19th century. Maintained from the donations collected by the Jewish community, the F. Klein boys 'primary School and the Cultura girls' School functioned with 5-6 classes each in the first decades of the twentieth century. In addition to the regular curriculum, in those schools were studied the Hebrew language and the Mosaic religion. In the city of Bacau there were other Jewish educational institutions, a kindergarten, a theoretical high school, and a mixed commercial high school.
