Summary/Abstract: The Holy Mountain of Athos is an Orthodox shrine common to all Christianity, a centre of religious and spiritual life, a centuries . old capital of East-European Orthodox culture. Athos is a tmeasume-house, of christian art and religions literature. The small peninsula which is nowadays the oly survived centre of Orthodox, monasticism with its traditions was very important symbol for bulgarian artists, especialy for three of them: Ivan Lasarov, Zanko Lavrenov and Vassil Sachariev. The hard travel to the Mont Athos was not a tourist event, but part of spiritual and creative life of these artists. It is very important to be knaw en about the Balkan wars (1912-1915) and chain sins of the statute of Mont Athosmonastic respublik (1926 year). Greece receive internationally lesitimation to obtein all depopulated monastery . that of Russian, Bulgaria, Serbie and Roumanie. After the lons period of atheisme in Bulgaria (1944 . mid of 80-the years), Mont Athos is again presently symbol of national hystory and old culture.
