Summary/Abstract: The rural and the urban do not prompt only a spatial or demographic distinction but also distinctions regarding the mindset and lifestyle. These differences are so significant that they become important concerns in the field of the humanities. Among such subject-matters is urbanization as a transformation process involving immigrants from villages to cities. Urbanization is an important concept for Turkey, where an important part of the population, living mostly in the rural background until the 1990s, started to immigrate to urban settlements in the recent 20 or 30 years. Among them, Sivas received a great amount of immigration, and, focusing on this city center as the main sample in the present research, this study analyzes the progress and ratio of urbanization in terms of immigration from the rural to the city. The data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed with the SPSS program.
