Summary/Abstract: Dīwān Lugāt at-Turk, one of the works of the Qarakhanid Turkish era, is a reference book that provides important information about the Turkic communities and their languages.In the article, the verb “su-”,which means“to submit; to send wool to spin”, in Ol aŋar boyun sudı.“He submitted to him.”and Ol maŋa yuŋ sudı.“He sent me hanks of wool to spin.” will be emphasized. In particular, the meaning of “sending wool to spin” is taken into the center, and the uses of the verb in historical Turkic dialects, and its explanations in various etymological dictionaries and books will be examined. The texts in the historical periods of the Turkic language will be scanned by doing research on the verb in a diachronic way. The root meaning relation of the verb su-in Dīwān Lugāt at-Turkwill be witnessed in the interpretation of Qasidat Al-Burda, a work written in Eastern Turkish. In the article, the usage area and meaning map of the verb will be presented.
