Summary/Abstract: On the Day of Pentecost the Spirit descends not only on the Apostles, but also on those who were present with them; Spirit descended on the whole of the Primitive Church. Pentecost becomes eternal in the Apostolic Succession. The peculiar function of bishops is to be the organ of Apostolic Succession.
