Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this study is to reveal the relationship between the frequency of using students' summarizing strategies and their summarization performance. The participants of the research consisted of 246 students who are in the fifth, ninth and university first class. Data on the frequency of students using summarizing strategies were collected through a four-point likert-type questionnaire consisting of 56 items in three dimensions: reading comprehension, creating draft summary text and reviewing draft summary text. For the data on summarization performance, a story w was first given to the students, and after summarizing the story, they were asked to review and rewrite the summary texts. The summarized texts were evaluated by two researchers in accordance with the rubric. The data were transferred to the statistics program and analyzed. According to the results obtained, there is a significant relationship between the frequency of using students' summarizing strategies and their summarizing performance. In addition, the frequency of using summarization strategies and summarizing performance differed significantly in favor of female participants according to gender variable. According to the class variable, there was no difference in the frequency of using summarization strategies, and it was determined in two sub-dimensions of the summarization performance.
