Summary/Abstract: In this study, it is aimed to form a report for the general trends of academic studies based on the methods and techniques being used / should be used in writing education. The study was designed with meta-synthesis, one of the qualitative research methods. The data collection process was first started by writing the keywords "writing education", "method", "technical" and searching the literature for various search engines. Among the 85 studies compiled as a result of the web search, 24 articles were selected that matches the purpose of the research. Determined studies were evaluated over the context of distribution by years, subject areas discussed, methods used, results and recommendations. According to the results of the research; the majority of 24 research articles examined were written in the fields of creative writing, reflective writing, taking notes and active learning. It is determined that the related researches are mostly aimed on analyzing opinions and perceptions. In researches, it is observed that pre-service teachers are generally preferred as working group and interview, scanning and document analysis techniques were used for data collection. The articles have reached the conclusion that the use of method technique improves writing skills and gives a creative perspective. On the other hand, it was suggested that teachers should gain experience in application.
