Summary/Abstract: Women's studies have become popular area in recent times as a reflection of the sensitivity togender equality. The tourism sector is a part of the service sector and significant part of the workis women oriented. In addition to its labor-intensive structure, tourism also shows a "womanintensive" feature. Due to continuous growth of tourism and contribution positive effects to socioeconomic development of individuals, it has been an increase sein studies dealing with “womenand tourism" topics together. A content analysis on the concepts of "women" and "tourism" hasbeen performed using the Bibliometric method and Vosviewer programme. Within the scope ofthe study, 3245 studies obtained from the Web of Science data platform and analyzed using visualmapping technique. According to the co-occurrence analysis made on the keywords of studies,six different themes were determined and these were grouped as Tourism, Gender, Cross-BorderReproductive Care, Motivation, Sustainable Tourism and Segmentation. The obtained documenttype within the scope of their search is the article. It has been determined that the issue of womenis mainly studied in the accommodation enterprises. In literature, women-oriented studiesstarted in 1975 and increased after 2010. According to research findings women in tourism arepredominantly determined on glass ceiling barriers, wage discrimination, working departmentsand their roles in management levels.
