Summary/Abstract: Almost everyone has heard the saying, “History is written by the victors.” attributed to Churchill. Leaving aside this deep discussion, we can at least state that “history is a process that requires recording, selecting and interpreting”. For all these reasons, history is essentially a political initiative. What is addressed, how and by whom are among the tools of this political initiative. History narration is often shaped by professionals. However, today, with the new media, there has been a significant break in the central structure of the “history” narrative and this narrative has gained a different orientation with the narratives of non-professionals and the contributions of others. By diversifying the narrative, this makes it easier to produce new arguments based on information in the public sphere, opens the door to the narratives of others, makes it possible to produce information together, and ultimately paves the way for rendering “the narrative of history more democratic”. Departing from this basic argument, the purpose of this study is to reveal whether alternative activist new media provides opportunities to establish a more democratic narrative. This article is looking for an answer to the question “what kind of transformation does alternative activist new media bring for historical narrative and does this transformation pave the way for a more democratic narrative?” For this purpose, firstly, historical narrative, and the transformation that took place are reviewed and the role of the new media in the construction of the narrative of history is discussed. Afterward, the dynamics of alternative activists media and what kind of contributions and shortcomings these dynamics have on the democratization of historical narrative is analyzed.
