Summary/Abstract: The technological advancement of the general population is high, which has allowed governments to use modern technologies to combat the coronavirus. This paper focuses on the official smart quarantines in the Czech and Slovak Republics, which it describes and analyses from the right to privacy and personal data protection’s point of view. The biggest problems identified relate to insufficient applicable legal frameworks and to the proportionality of the used solution. In both cases, the problems were avoidable
