Summary/Abstract: Based on the continuous and meaningful presence of Federico García Lorca in Rafael Alberti’s poems, we propose to read nine compositions the Gaditan dedicated to the Granadine poet. This choice is justified once we verify that in all of them there is a situation of dialogue. We aim to analyze what could be the effects and implications of such dialogic operation and reflect on the possible meanings this constant appearance of Lorca in Alberti’s poetry could have. In order to do so, we present a brief story of their relationship. Further, we deeply analyze the poems, finding support in Benveniste and Bakhtin’s theories on human language and communication. We also consider Paul Ricoeur and Georges Gusdorf in their discussions on the role of interpersonal relations in the constitution of the self.
