Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the problem of subject acquisition in preschool age. Sentences with both explicit and implicit subjects are analyzed with the purpose to specify the correlation between syntactic function and semantic roles in subject position. Empirical data is gathered from two separate recordings of child-adult dialogs. The child in the first dyad is 2; 2 years old and in the second one is 6; 6, so the specific achievements in the acquisition of sentences with explicit and implicit subjects could be viewed in both early and late stages of pre-school age.
