Summary/Abstract: This paper describes the acquisition of Bulgarian vocabulary by monolingual Bulgarian children (aged between 1; 6 to 5; 9 years). The analyses of vocabulary growth show, that children create occasionalisms using both standard models of word derivation as well as non-standard ones. Some examples of phraseological combinations are also discussed.
