THE CAPACITY FOR WORD FORMATION OF ONOMATOPOEIA AND INTERJECTIONS ON ALBANIAN LANGUAGE

Summary/Abstract: Word formation is one of the main ways and actions to enrich the lexicon of a language, and at the same time to grow the expressive capacities of that language. Since the Albanian language consists of many possibilities for formative words, which are manifested through many ways of word formation and through the wide variety of grammatical tools at the disposal of these means, working with word formation is of a special importance, and as well as for the fact that the unchangeable parts of speech, including onomatopoeia, which are not considered as words by many linguists, nor included in vocabularies, do actually have a capacity for word formation. In this paper we have worked precisely with word formation by the latter, including interjections, thus, with the treatment of those cases when these words have served as formative words in the formation of newword. Meanwhile, the researched corpus, due to the nature of the paper, has not been limited. Therefore, by having an unlimited corpus, the paper has widely included such formations, by seeing and analyzing what grammatical and lexical features they take, which word class they further enrich, with which formative word tools they combine and interact, and also do they really have a capacity for word formation.
