Summary/Abstract: Each epoch faces specific challenges. Currently, global societies must deal with phenomena that, because of their novelty and interaction, can only be addressed multidisciplinarily. Among the issues debated in today's society, the protection of the elderly requires such a multidisciplinary approach (medical, legal, political, social, ethical, etc.). This article, starts from the idea that politics is one of the major areas involved in the progress of elderly protection, but ethical issues regarding the respect due to every person should not be neglected.
