Summary/Abstract: The thirties have shaped their profile in particular by intense publishing activity undertaken by their representative members, and not only by them. Newspapers and magazines of art and culture constituted their usual arena for expression, which were imposed by some modern spirit, often confessional, exacerbated by a critical sense of value and a constant reference to current European ideas. In his generation, Ionel Jianu was not an exception, on the contrary, his journalistic vocation could be discern since early youth when he was appreciated for the work done in editorial publications, such as the French journal, Le Petrole, where he worked as a proof reader. Also, among the first journalistic experience and collaboration can be placed that to his secondary school magazine, justified entitled The youth voice. During this period, Ionel Jianu practiced his literary talent, writing poems and stories, but also dealing with the administrative plans of the magazine. A second major editorial experience of Ionel Jianu, viewed in chronological way, was placed in the Romanian-French cultural interference, just because it took place partly in the francophone area without removing all the effervescence from Bucharest media. During his studies in Paris, Ionel Jianu was close to journalism. He worked for over two years to the Politics Newspaper from Bucharest, becoming the newspaper's correspondent. In the same period of Parisian studies (from the beginning of 1926 to July 1927), Ionel Jianu was working in the editorial office of another newspaper Le Soir, where he had perfect opportunity to familiarize himself with the French cultural climate and knew French journalists of a high prestige. Such journalistic notes are still vivid for that vein of poetry and mystery, authentic and picturesque kind of history lived and witnessed.
