Summary/Abstract: Paremiology defines proverbs as short forms of oral literature and qualifies them as linguistic phrases created by the multiplicity of experience and knowledge gained during human life, which possess a guiding power created by this life experience. Unlike other forms of oral literature, proverbs as part of short forms of this literature, have a specific narrative communication. They are not narrated by the narrator or rhapsodist like other forms in front of a certain audience, but proverbs are most often narrated as a message coming out of its carefully chosen text during ordinary conversation. Their message conveyed as a text chosen by one of the two participants in the conversation, is accepted with approval or reaction by the other interlocutor, and all this interfering action shows acceptance of the showing and understanding of their content and purpose. Based on these characteristics of this short form of oral literature, in this paper, in addition to the theoretical paremiological interpretation, there are analyzed and given concrete examples detached from the corpus published with proverbs of oral literature of Albanian culture, in which these characteristics are revealed, as well as the specific purposes are illustrated, that: what is the way of narration and the characteristic giving of the advice given to the new generations through proverbs; which behaviors are instructed through these forms; and how a person should become aware of their weight.
