Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present the activities carried out by the Polish diplomats in the field of the diffusion of information about Poland in Spain. The author analyzes specifically two texts published in Madrid: Breve i sumaria descripción del Reyno de Polonia (1588) by Mikołaj Sękowski and Relación diaria de las guerras tenidas entre Polacos y Turcos por los años 1620 y 1621 (1623) by Maciej Tytlewski. Both texts are, respectively, the first and the second ever published in Spanish about Poland. This fact suggests a clearly popularizing intent of the authors, who wanted to make their publications known to a broader public. Their actions should insert within the context of Polish diplomatic initiatives at the Spanish Court, as well as mirror a general tendency of Polish writers who, at the time of the “printing revolution”, published numerous texts whose aim was to offer abroad reliable information about Poland.
