Summary/Abstract: Currently, the international currency market is experiencing a drop in the value of national currency units of developed countries, the global economy is unstable. The article considers possible scenarios for the development of the situation and assesses the forecasts of analysts from leading credit institutions and authoritative economic publications. The purpose of this work is to study the impact of manipulations with exchange rates on the national economies of individual countries and on the world economy as a whole. The task of the authors was to reveal the concept of a currency war, to identify the causes of competitive devaluations, to present a scenario of possible consequences. The objects of study were the United States, China, Russia, Japan, as well as the EU countries, which are the most active subjects of competitive devaluation. The article uses extensive material from the world analytical agencies and departments, reviews and forecasts, scientific theoretical work of scientists. The authors consider the continuation of the policy of competitive devaluation in China, Rossm, Japan and the EU as a probable scenario of the global economy. Uncertainty in US policy towards the value of the dollar affects factors of macroeconomic stability, while a stable high dollar rate is attractive to investors and serves as the basis for the emergence of financial pyramids. It has been suggested that the preservation of the high dollar rate in comparison with the currencies of other countries in the future may lead to a collapse of the world financial market.
