Summary/Abstract: Witold Kula undoubtedly belongs to the narrow elite of historians of the era of the People’s Republic of Poland, he is also its most recognized representative in the international arena. This text aims at presenting the most important moments of his biography, a brief characteristic of his achievements and his reception in contemporary historiography.
