Summary/Abstract: With the increasing globalization trends in the 1990s, developing countries started to encounter high inflation rates. As of this period, the relationship between trade openness and inflation started to take an important place in the economic literature. The discussions are based on Romer's hypothesis, which argues for the negative impact of trade openness in developing countries on inflation. The aim of this study after 2002 survived the phenomenon of high inflation in the economy of Turkey is to test the hypothesis of Romer econometric methods. The ARDL bound test approach and Toda Yamamoto causality tests were applied in the study in which quarterly data from 2003Q1-2020Q3 were used. As a result of the study, together with the cointegration relationship, one-way causality relationship from trade openness to inflation was determined.
